 Craig B: (Guitar, Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, Ukulele)

Craig is one of the state’s top guitarists.  Craig has performed for both local and national artists as lead Guitar, mandolin, and bass for the past 15 years.  Craig began his music career in high school and some of his accomplishments are:

  • Voted by Guitar Center the best guitarist in the state in 2003
  • Competed in New Orleans where he placed 3rd in the US western region.

As a teacher Craig prides himself on the accomplishments of his students.  He’s been teaching all ages for the entire 15 years of his music career.  Craig has been a lead instructor for two teaching companies.  Over the years several of Craig’s students have gone on to pursue their own careers as musicians both in colleges and as performing musicians.  Craig’s goals for every student is to get them to where each student wants to be as a player.  Whether that be all the way to performing professionally or simply playing guitar with friends around a campfire.  Each student has their own style of learning and all lessons will be catered to their speed and goals.  If you’ve ever had a desire to pick up a guitar, this lesson program will give you all the tools you need to fuel that passion to its fullest!

Joe E: (Drums, Percussion)

Joe has been teaching drums for over 15yrs and is a very accomplished musician as well as a teacher.  Joe has played in several major bands here in Colorado most notably “The Kory Brunson Band”.  Joe’s teaching style crosses over several genre of music and is capable of bringing that knowledge to any student no matter age or skill level.

Joe also has major experience with teaching groups:

  • My Music Skool Summer Rock Band Camp
  • My Music Skool Drum camp

Joe’s passion for teaching makes him an excellent choice for learning drums.

Sam M: (Guitar, Piano, Vocal)

Born and bred in Colorado, Sam has been playing guitar for over a decade and piano for five years. Inspired by blue grass and folk guitarists, Sam followed his passion for finger style guitar to MSU Denver. There he studied classical guitar, piano, and voice.

Over the course of his time spent there:

  • Recipient of the Metro talent award
  • Participated in master classes with Matt Palmer and Dimitris Kotronakis
  • Graduated with honors.

Dutch M: (Piano, Vocal, Guitar, Ukulele)

Received his degree in Piano Performance from Loretto Heights College (now Regis University).  Dutch has acted as Music Director of numerous local productions including:  The Christmas Carol (Aurora Fox), Scarlet Letter the Musical (Aurora Fox), Secret Garden (Lone Tree Arts Center).  Long-time Music Director of The Original Dickens Carolers.  Dutch is a versatile and patient instructor.

Singer/Actor/player – Opera Colorado (more than 20 productions), soloist with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Jesus Christ Superstar, Pirates of Penzance, Cool Shooz A Cappella (named Best of Denver), Cut to the Chase, Blue Moon Bluegrass and many more.

  • Voice- audition preparation a specialty; vocal coach for pop, opera, and music theatre
  • Guitar – (acoustic only) country, pop, bluegrass, and classical. Flat pick and finger picking.
  • Piano –classical teaching methods and chord theory get the student into the type of music they want to play
  • Adults Students – a good number of Dutch’s students are adults
  • Music Theory always included

Dutch has enjoyed numerous years as music director at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, St. George’s Episcopal Church, and First Plymouth Congregational Church.  He believes the human voice is the greatest instrument of all and in harmony as a way of life.  Dutch lives in Golden with his wife Nancy, two children, and a Labradoodle name Jordan.

Jeff R: (Piano, Keyboards, Vocal)

Jeff studied at Berklee College of Music, in 1987. There were many great experiences of being involved in a performing arts church, various bands, and co-leading the gospel choir at Berklee’s High School Five-Week Summer Program. Over the years, he’s had the pleasure of collaborating with a friend/choreographer in Pittsburgh, played piano/keys in many bands, a few theater companies, and was an accompanist with the Dance Department of the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Jeff’s forte is intermediate level piano:

  • Classical, Pop/Rock/R&B, Vintage Keyboards, Musical Theater, and Accompanying for Dance.
  • Intermediate vocal lessons: Classical & Musical Theater ~ concentrating on proper breath control, diction, projection (filling a space with sound), and stage presence.
  • Lead group music experiences: where students will learn percussion/rhythm/syncopation & jam-style improvisation.  Even though I’ve been a musician for almost 40 years, I’m still learning & exploring new styles ~ including orchestrating, and arranging.

Kyle T: (Classical Guitar, Bass, Piano, Upright Bass, Horns)

Kyle is a classical guitarist, a former student in the studio of Denver based guitar virtuoso, Professor Alex Komodore, at the Metropolitan State University of Denver.  Kyle is complete with his studies in composition with:

  • Dr. Fred Hess, Cherise Leiter, and Dr. David Ferrell
  • Graduated Cum Laude with a degree in composition
  • Participated in private master-classes with Conrad Kehn of the University of Denver and Dr. Christopher Malloy from the Lamont School of Music
  • Works read by both Denver’s “Playground Ensemble” and the “Colorado Wind Ensemble.

Now entering his eleventh year of musical studies, Kyle teaches primarily guitar, piano, bass, and drums with a strong foundation in music theory, not only teaching the how of music, but also the why. He also teaches the foundations of all the orchestral instruments with the same strong background in musicianship while making lessons incredibly fun!

Felicia T: (Cello, Upright Bass, Violin, Viola)

Felicia gained her Music Education at Iowa State University. There she studied cello with George Work and violin with Boro Martinic-Jercic. Felicia continued to participate in musical theatre both at the university and in the Ames community.

  • Played in the Iowa State University Wind Ensemble (ISU’s top performing band) on String Bass
  • Accompanied the band to Europe and played the flute with the ensemble
  • Assistant musical director for the university’s production of Les Miserables

Felicia is known for her ability to inspire students and push them to improve their skills. She enjoys teaching her students how to practice their instruments and to play musically.  Felicia has over 10 years of experience teaching music lessons. She began her musical career on the cello and begun teaching lessons in 2006, while she was in high school.

Craig W: (Guitar, Bass, Ukulele)

Craig is very excited to join the teaching staff at My Music Skool.  He was inspired by heavy metal virtuoso like Marty Friedman and Kirk Hammett, and officially became a guitarist at age 10.  Craig studied guitar performance at Berklee College of Music and Lewis & Clark College.  His musical pursuits have taken him around the country, touring with rock bands, performing with Chicago theaters, and recording albums.  He has had the great opportunity to study with guitar legends Paul Gilbert and Andy Timmons, but believes his three greatest teachers have been his favorite albums, his band mates, and his students.  Craig’s guitar classes focus on using favorite songs to learn lessons about guitar technique, music theory, and performance.

Su Qi Y: (Piano & Percussion)

Malaysian pianist, Su Qi Y, performs internationally as a recitalist. She has made appearances at prestigious venues around the world including:

  • Teatro degli Unanimi (Italy, Arcidosso),
  • University of Taipei recital hall & concert hall (Taiwan),
  • Eslite Performance Hall (Taiwan),
  • Chinese High School’s Recital Hall (Batu Pahat, Malaysia),
  • Tsun Jin High School (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia),
  • Foon Yew High School Auditorium (Johor Bahru, Malaysia)
  • Interharmony International Music Festival.
  • Attended Interharmony International Music Festival at Italy with Professor Liao in 2013 and participated in a master class presented by pianist, Marian Hahn.

In 2016, she attended Euro Music Festival in Germany in summer and studies with Roland Kruger and Bernd Goetzke.Su Qi began her music studies at age 17, receiving training in Malaysia, Taipei, and the United States. After two years of study, in 2010 she achieved The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 with merit. She also was awarded Trinity Guildhall Advanced Level Graded Examination in Music Literacy Grade 6 Theory of Music with merit.

In 2011, she studied at the University of Taipei with Pei-Chun, Liao and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music at Taiwan. In 2015, she accepted a high scholarship from the University of Wyoming to study with Dr. Chi-Chen Wu, to earn her Performance Certificate. Su Qi’s professors say that she is an exceptional student and is one of few pianists who has been able to excel even though she began her training in her teens. Being a piano student in University, she enrolled collaborative piano class for each semester and focusing work with singers. She also works with instruments players.
